About

Action Atlantic brings together pain patients to help educate and provide coping strategies through self-managed support groups. We advocate through communication with health care professionals in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. These individuals are familiar with the struggles that chronic pain sufferers deal with and are interested in helping to raise awareness, advocate for improved access to evidence-based medicines and other treatment options, and share information with media and government officials.
Action Atlantic is partnered with the Chronic Pain Association of Canada (CPAC). Collaboratively, these two organizations are able to educate support group facilitators  in a universal manner, throughout the country.
Action Atlantic is a volunteer group working to raise awareness about the prevalence and impact of chronic pain.

We maintain support groups throughout our region, run awareness campaigns, display street banners and organise informative events during National Pain Awareness Week, and frequently reach out to politicians, doctors, educators and other key "influencers".

We strive to support patients and to advocate for improved and equal access to pharmaceuticals and treatment on behalf of all chronic pain sufferers in Atlantic Canada regardless of financial status.
